A Discussion on COVID-19's Unique Impact on Women in the Legal Profession

(1 hour of EDI Professionalism Content)

COVID-19 has changed our world. It has not changed our world in a uniform way, however, and certain communities have been impacted more profoundly than others. Some economists have posited that COVID-19 has highlighted the fault lines that existed throughout our world and societies prior to the unique impact of COVID-19. Women and men throughout all levels of the Canadian workforce have been highly impacted by COVID-19 on their current and future employment, however many social scientists posit that the lasting effects of COVID-19 will disproportionately impact the retention of female talent in many sectors over that of their male counterparts and that these effects will be felt for many years – and perhaps decades – to come. These comments likely extend to the practice of law as well.

On October 6, 2020 FEMPOWR is hosting  A Discussion on COVID-19's Unique Impact on Women in the Legal Profession virtually
