And it wouldn’t be October in Kitchener each year without the Region celebrating its German roots in grand scale during Oktoberfest, the largest Bavarian festival outside of Munich, Germany. As many as 700,000 visitors flock to Waterloo Region during Oktoberfest to enjoy the cultural events, the German cuisine and of course, let’s not forget the beer and the polka!

The outdoors enthusiast can walk, bicycle or rollerblade through over 100 kilometers of well maintained, community trails. You can catch the Iron Horse Trail that runs from Kitchener through to uptown Waterloo and beyond to your picnic site at Laurel Creek Conservation Area.

From the annual Multicultural Festival in Kitchener’s downtown Victoria Park that draws thousands of hungry visitors, to free outdoor concerts, public golf and a water park for the kids, there truly is something for everyone over the summer months. Check out The Aud, Kitchener’s premier sports and entertainment venue and home to the Junior A Kitchener Rangers.
