There is no denying that the workplace has a powerful role to play in someone’s mental health journey, by providing the opportunity for someone to safely say, “I am not OK and I need help". This workshop will focus on self care plans and creating balance in life. Self care plans are the tool that provides insight into our overall health and well being. The workshop will explore our current habits that are not feeding our overall well being while reflecting on those activities and actions that promote a balanced life.
Mega Health at Work is founded and facilitated by Robin Bender. Based in Waterloo, Ontario Robin’s early experiences in HR roles inspired her to make a change. She experienced a culture where people were focused on treating mental health more than preventing it. As she saw a lot of friction with unions, piling claims, and unfair policies- she decided to help those who needed it the most. Robin has an innate passion and love for helping others. Paired with her education in Psychology and fieldwork in Human Resources, she blended her experiences to found Mega Health at Work.Mega Health at Work is passionate about erasing the dangerous stigma surrounding mental health.
- Stigma prevents people from asking for help
- Stigma affects people while they are experiencing challenges, accessing treatment and trying to heal
- Stigma is painful for those who are trying to manage moment to moment
- We scar people with stigma when we are judgemental and critical
